I AM
GARY TAY
Creator, trainer, consultant, developer, designer, strategist, marketer, or extrepreneur? We will all travel down that path one day, evolving and adapting to constant changes. This is my journey.
Wake up one morning,
and you realize...
you've lived half your life,
and you're still adding
stuff to your bucket list.
LIVING WITH IMPERFECTIONS
Living in a world that is constantly striving for perfection, at every turn selling you even more perfection from cosmetics to automobiles. Bigger, better, faster, more efficient but ultimately less effective.
In reality, we have been living with imperfections. Imperfections because you're still being sold the next cool gadget, or another fancier sports shoe.
Possibly you might even be planning to buy that water-proof sneaker made from coffee. The question we need to ask ourselves is - when will it all stop. When will you be satisfied? Probably never.
It has been a long time coming, after numerous delayed attempts and convincing myself "I'll get to it some day", that day has arrived. Finally, I have decided to begin my long overdue personal project to share some of my experiences and thoughts.
In the past 2 years in the Covid19 pandemic, we have all gone through varying levels of personal challenges, which on the hindside, it has given us the opportunity to figure out... What's next? Where do we go from here? The question is 'have you decided to make any changes to your life?' For me it has led me to review some of my life goals & priorities, and changes that I plan to make in the coming future.
Unknowingly, we all keep adding stuff into our bucket list each day. Things we want to do... some day. Will that day be today? Tomorrow or next week? And while we have all been sold something, we do not need. May be its time to take stock, and do some housekeeping. Throw out the non-essentials, and focus on the things that really do matter.
At whatever age you may be, go out and discover. Life is there to be appreciated, just sponge it all up. As you might have figured out, this web site is going to be a continuous 'work in progress'. That's me checking off one item off the bucket list. Now to begin the journey of sharing.
For those who know me, they are already aware that I am constantly involved in all kinds of activities or exploring all kinds of new things. It's a habit. But what I do hope, is to share with you some of my experiences. You might be wondering what is this web site all about? It's a compilation of my journey, experiences, thoughts and observations.
The content will focus on my current activities, which is a combination of being involved in the digital economy, especially in the area of IT, digital communications and marketing. As I am now venturing into content creation and training, I will sharing some of my learnings and exploration there.
Yes, being long winded is one of the habits you pick being that little older. Reminds me about the time I completed my first draft of my dissertation, I actually wrote over 40,000 words. Struggling to cut it down the required 20,000 words, which took longer than writing the initial draft.
Having joined the workforce as junior visualizer in the late 80s with over 30 years in the communications industry, you do end up picking alot of stories, knowledge, adventures and experiences.
Do Enjoy!
